ACOUSTIC GUITARS
Gibson Hummingbird - 19xx - black finish:
DETAILS: Used occasionally during the acoustic set on the Joshua Tree and ZOOTV tours, this guitar was used to play "Kite" each night on the Elevation 2001 tour.
Gibson Hummingbird - 19xx - red finish:
DETAILS: Bono played "Staring At The Sun" on this guitar during the 1997-98 Popmart Tour. This appeared to be Bono's # 2 acoustic on the Elevation 2001 tour.
Washburn EA40 Woodstock Festival - 198x - black finish:
DETAILS: Bono can be seen playing this in some Anton Corbijn promo shots that were taken in Philadelphia circa 1985 (See:Anton's "Werk" photo book). This guitar also used during "C'Mon Everybody"(Cover: Eddie Cochran) at the 05-17-86 "Self Aid" show in Dublin, Ireland. Bono continued to used this guitar often on the Joshua Tree Tour. This and be seen in bootleg video from various shows on the tour including the 11-18-87 Los Angeles, California show at the "Los Angeles Coliseum".
Yamaha (model unsure) - 19xx - black finish:
DETAILS: I first saw this in pictures of Bono and The Edge playing; from the Rattle and Hum era. This acoustic guitar seemed to be the one that Bono kept with him in hotels for songwriting during the ZOOTV tour. There is a poster of him in a hotel, dressed in a white bathrobe, sitting in a chair, playing this guitar. The graphic on this guitar may have been painted by the same artist who painted The Edges pewter Eric Clapton model Stratocaster.
ELECTRIC GUITARS
Danvel-Nelson Telecaster - 19xx - [finish unsure]
DETAILS: I am a bit unsure as to the nature and use of this guitar. I have read very little about it, other than in the "Official Rattle and Hum" book.

Fender Lead 2 - 198x - black finish
DETAILS: This guitar has 2 single coil pickups and a black pickguard. Bono often used this guitar for performances of "A Day Without Me".

Fender Telecaster Deluxe - 19xx - black finish
DETAILS: This guitar has 2 humbuckers and a black pickguard. I am unsure of it's year of manufacturer but it appears similar to a 1972 model. Bono played this guitar during "In God's Country" (11-18-87) and he can be seen playing this with B.B King during "When Love Comes To Town" during the film, "Rattle And Hum".

Gibson ES-175 - 199x - black finish
DETAILS: This guitar was used during the ZOOTV/ZOOROPA tours. It has a sticker on the underside reading, "I Feel Good". This is a hollowbody guitar that was originally designed more for "jazz" music but Bono seems to be very drawn to this model, owning at least 3 ES-1754's. Bono used this for "The Fly", "One", "Stay (Faraway, So Close!), and "Dirty Day" during the ZOOTV/ZOOROPA tours. - [Source: "U2: ZOOTV Live From Sydney"]
Gibson ES-175 - 199x - (custom) blue sparkle finish
DETAILS: This blue sparkle finish was custom ordered for Bono for the Popmart tour. The Edge borrowed this guitar for the video shoot for the "The Ground Beneath Her Feet", from the "Million Dollar Hotel" soundtrack. Bono played this guitar during "Miss Sarajevo" during the 9-23-1997 Popmart Sarajevo show.

Gibson ES-175 - 199x - (custom) red sparkle finish
DETAILS: This red sparkle finish was custom ordered for Bono for the Popmart tour. It was used during live performances of "Last Night on Earth". I saw Bono smash this against the drum riser in Oakland during "I Will Follow", on the Elevation 2001 tour. It has since been repaired. I saw the pictures on the Gibson site. They did a great job repairing it.

Gibson ES-335 - 19xx - Heritage red finish
DETAILS: This guitar has a rosewood fretboard, block inlays, cream body binding, two humbucker pickups and a stop tailpiece. Bono used this guitar during the Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum Pt. Depot sessions (as seen in many pictures in the "Official Rattle and Hum" book) and during the Lovetown tour.

Gibson L5 - 19xx - tobacco sunburst
DETAILS: There are pictures of both Bono and The Edge playing this guitar during the Rattle and Hum Sessions at Pt. Depot in Dublin. I am not sure if it made an appearance on Rattle and Hum (or any other album). I have not seen it in any live concert pictures either.

Gibson Les Paul Custom - 19xx - black finish
DETAILS: I have seen pictures of Bono in the VOX magazine [August 1993/Page#21] while in the studio during the writing and recording of the Zooropa CD. I do not recall seeeing him use this guitar for live applications. I have also seen a few in the studio pics of Bono playing this during the making of POP and ALL THAT YOU CAN'T LEAVE BEHIND.
Gibson Les Paul - 19xx - (custom) hologram finish
DETAILS: Bono used this guitar to play "Last Night On Earth", opening night of the European leg of Popmart tour. (Rotterdam, Netherlands. July 18, 1997)
Gretsch 6119 Chet Atkins - 1958 - red finish
DETAILS: This is a vintage hollow body, one pickup Gretsch with a black pickguard. This was first seen in the hands of The Edge (in conjunction with an E-Bow) during the video shoot for "Night And Day" for the "Red, Hot and Blue" AIDS charity compilation of Cole Porter tunes. It has one pickup. This later showed up in a number of photos from the Hansa Studio sessions. This is the guitar that Bono used for "Gone" on the Popmart tour.

Gretsch 6196 Country Club - 19xx - Cadillac Green
DETAILS: The Edge used this during the Pavarotti and Friends show in Modena, Italy in 1995. ("Miss Sarajevo"). This guitar is seemed to first appear during the Hansa sessions for Achtung Baby and shows up in a number of pictures from that session and the Dog Town sessions that later occurred in Dublin. This seemed to be one of Bonos Gretsch of choice during the ATYCLB promo tour and Elevation tour, until Bono obtained his "Irish Falcon".

Gretsch 7593BK Black Falcon I - xxxx - black finish
DETAILS: : This appears to be the Black Falcon I v. the Black Falcon. This determination made by the headstock. The Black Falcon has Gretsch written verticle on the headstock and the Black Falcon I has it horizontal on the top of the headstock - as seen in the picture of Bono with this guitar. This guitar is essential the black finish (w/ gold hardware) version of the infamous Gretsch "White Falcon". Bonos is a single cutaway (unlike The Edges vintage double cutaway White Falcon). He was seen playing this May 27, 2003 at the Pavarotti and Friends show in Modena, Italy.
Gretsch Irish Falcon - 200x - Cadillac Green
DETAILS: Fred Gretsch delivered this guitar to Bono, personally, during the Elevation 2001 tour. It is essentially a Gretsch White Falcon that was finished in Cadillac green. Bono has at least 2 of these as one was in the U2: Pride In the Name Of Love" U2 exhibit at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland from February 2003 through February 29, 2004. During that period Bono was seen with another Irish Falcon at the 46664 Nelson Mandela concert in South Africa.
